3-15-3 Inaho, Otaru
It's a shop in a neighborhood alley so you can only park alleys like Korea.
I do not know about lunch, but dinner is at 5:00.
From 11 am to 3 pm break time It is from 4:30 to 7:30 pm
¥200-800+tax/1pcs, popular set ¥6,000+tax
Great. If there is new chance to go Otaru, I must go here again. Even though the quantity is very limited, it just the key charm of Japan. I recommend you to eat convenient store food after having Sushi.
i loved it here Isezushi. this place serve the best sushi i ever have. since it's such a good place to have sushi in Otaru, i recommend to book the seat 2 weeks to one month earlier. you cannot walk-in. but if you love sushi, you should never miss this place
Sushi was great with good priceThe chef is very friendlyI had really good time at lunch time with other customers at desk seatI will visit again when I am going to Otaru in the future
The location is pretty far from Otaru Station, as it's in the residential area. But it is definitely worth to get there! I ate June set with Sapporo beer and everything that I've got tasted great. Especially the sea urchin roes were the best among served sushi. The total came to about 7000 yen for a person. I strongly recommend you visit here and enjoy the decent dish when you are in Otaru. And also the staffs were very kind among the people I met during this trip to Japan.
Uni wasnt as fresh as SB urchin. Try the mantis shrimp. All the roe was really salty
Highly recommend this place for omakase sushi at the bar table. Reservation require. Here is the first time I can taste fish in different flavour and texture.
Best sushi ever
Best sushi ever!
We got the Jun set, and it was the best sushi we ever had! Do make a reservation beforehand
A bit far from station but worth to have a meal here
Fantastic sushi!
Best Sushi with Best Hospitality
What a fantastic lunch. The sushi chef has a stunning personality and was very friendly. He was kind when I struggled through the little Japanese I knew and he told me the English names for each thing he served. The food itself was fabulous. I can't describe the delicate deliciousness. Its just excellent. The sake list is limited but very very good. And watching him prepare each piece was like watching a ballet
Sushi is fresh, not far from otaru station
Very elegant Japanese sushi restaurant, with diverse fish, shellfish, shrimp, and uni something.
If you walk in knowing this is a Michelin Star restaurant, you’ll probably be disappointed. The food quality is good but the unremarkable nori on the gunkan is an example of where Izezushi falls short of a truly great sushi restaurant. I suspect counter seating and interaction with the itamae is a big part of the experience and unfortunately we could only get a table seat.
Great experience. Very entertaining.
Best sushi I’ve had in Hokkaido. Not cheap, but good value for money. Small place with intimate service - book in advance. Parking is around the corner, not next door.
No need for too much expectation
excellent sushi
good
Talked myself into the one remaining seat at the only Michelin star sushi bar in Otaru and made friends with diners and sushi chef. Spectacular sushi - every piece flavored delicately, no soy sauce allowed. Two types of uni, side by side. OMG - Sushi tengoku (heaven)!
A privilege to sit a the counter of this sushi chef in second generation: a real passion for the product, a very personal touch and great knowledge he is sharing casually during dinner - a real delight. Products are very pure, ultimately fresh and local. Reservations may be difficult, but it is definitively worth the effort and wait.
Had the omakase lunch with 16 pcs of sushi...worse than expected as the fish aren’t as fresh as they could be...the chu toro cut wasn’t good needed to chew/spit out the vein...
Excellent sushi but service is not typical of a one star Michelin restaurant. Horrible music. Worth visiting for great sushi but don't expect anything else.
Excellent sushi in Otaru. Great value for money.
I prefer Sushi of Kanazawa than Otaru.
We had the omakase nigiri set... it was alright. Not spectacular. Maybe i came w too much expectations. This place is booked weeks in advance and walk ins are usually turned down. I do think it's a little pricey for the experience. I'd give it a miss if i find myself in otaru again. Service was warm and earnest.
I strongly recommend you to visit here! This place is the best sushiya in my life!
Great sushi and service.
Once you eat sushi here you become unable to be satisfied other sushi.
one of the fine sushi bar, we were lucky to enter without reservation and only two place left, surely is one of our top list recommendation
Amazing 1 Michelin star edomae style sushi at a fraction of the cost back home. Reservation is a must! Chef and waitresses were friendly and helpful.
Very fresh
best sushi i’ve ever had!!
One of best sushi!! Extremly high ROI!! You will never regret. Strongly recommend dodge (bar table)
We had sushi at the table-seki (we couldn't book the counter-seki).Sushi there was not that good. Maybe next time I'd try at the counter-seki.
Great time here with their Omakase experience. The Omakase requires a reservation in advance. We used JPNEZY to book our seats. Note that this is NOT this nigiri Omakase that you’d get for sitting at the counter, but it’s still good. The staff speak a bit of English, but they have menus and reference charts that will tell you exactly what you’re eating if you don’t speak Japanese. The only reason we did not rank it 5 stars is because of the minor service mishaps. For a 1-star Michelin restaurant, the servers often brought the next course before we finished eating the current course. They also mixed up the prepayment and we had to sort it out at the end because they wanted to charge us for the meal again. Other than that it was a great experience
This is the best sushi restaurant in Otaru. Get a counter seat if you can. Recommend: tokishirazu (wild salmon in Hokkaido), botanebi, uni.
Terrible restaurant. Never eat at the table. It never worth the price. Had whole sushi in 10min. I will never never go again.
Had high hopes coming into this highly rated restaurant. Booked seats one month in advance. Ordered 6 omakase sets. Fish quality was barely average. Only the medium fatty tuna was slightly decent. Arkshell was very bad. Salmon roe and cod roe were bad. I cant recall other dishes as they were so bad. I would prefer any other chain sushi places than Isezushi any day. Total rip off. Very very disappointing experience.
We came here at about 2pm without a reservation and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. They have free parking nearby but do check with the restaurant exactly which lot they own. The sushi was really quite excellent but probably would have been better if we had reserved a counter seat in front of the main chef. The set menu was also competitively priced.
Great food at a great price by a very friendly chef!
average, rice is not cooked right, overated tourist spot
one of my best sushi in my life!
How can they get the michelin star, I think the the sushi set was below standard.
A bit disappointed for michelin restaurant, sushi set was just so so. Maybe because we got table instead of counter. Not worth the money at all, just one time for me.
Omakase sushi set was superb. Loved the tachipon and grilled hakka
No.1 sushi in Japan, good service and great meal.
Fine for the price. Nothing amazing, but tasty
